Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some Frequently-Asked-Questions with answers:

1. When will my pictures be ready?

a. Your picture order will be mailed to your home address within 4 weeks after the photography session. In some situations, the photos are returned to the pet store and you will pick them up there.

2. What size pictures are available?

a. You may order these sizes: wallet, 4x5, 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, or 16x20's. We also offer photo greeting cards, and portraits printed on canvas.

3. How long does it take for special orders (canvas, etc.)?

a. Depending on the season, it usually takes an extra 14 days.

4. What type poses are available?

a. We offer a variety of poses ranging from frilly to plain, seasonal to non-seasonal. The customer selects the pose they like from a book of samples.

5. Am I obligated to buy anything?

a. No. You will view your proofs the day of the shoot, but there is no obligation to buy anything; however, if you go to the trouble of bringing in a pet for a photo, we hope you will consider purchasing a package. If you do not like any of the photos we take of your pet, you are not obligated to buy anything or even pay the sitting fee.

6. Where do they take the pictures?

a. A small studio area is set up in a back room or a corner of the store.

7. Can I accompany my pet to get the picture taken?

a. Most pets do better without their owners; however, there are exceptions and we will discuss those situations with the customer as it arises.

8. Can I bring a favorite toy to be in the photo?

a. Yes, we will be glad to incorporate it into the photo.

10. Can the owner/family be in the same picture with the pet? Is there an extra charge?

a. Yes, family members are welcome as space allows. There is no charge for up to two people in the same photo with their animals.

11. Can I have my 2 dogs photographed together? Is there any extra charge?

a. Yes, but they cannot be large animals. Our table will only accommodate 2 dogs the size of average Labrador Retrievers. The fee for a second pet in the same picture is the same as the initial sitting fee, not including shipping or handling.

12. Can you photograph our Great Dane or other large dog breeds?

a. Large animals do better in a home setting. If they are brought into the store, a good headshot is the best we can offer.

13. Can you photograph my mother cat and 5 kittens?

a. It is almost impossible to get a quality picuture of this type when outside the animal's usual environment.

14. Do you photograph reptiles and unusual pets?

a. Yes; however, we ask the owners to handle and pose their special pets for the safety of our staff and the pets.

15. Can you photograph my aggressive pet?

a. For the safety of everyone involved, we only photograph aggressive animals in a home setting.

16. When do I pay and how much?

a. You pay all fees the day of the photo session. The advertised sitting fee + tax + shipping/handling is due at that time. A second animal in the same photo is the same price as the original sitting fee but there is no additional shipping and handling. You will also need to pay for any package orders placed at that time.

17. Will you put bows in my dogs hair?

a. We only add bows at the owner's request and the owner must provide them.

18. Can you make my ugly dog beautiful?

a. Probably not, but we can add props that might give him more of a Hollywood look.

19. If my dog is scared of the camera and flash, can you still photograph him?

a. It is not likely that his fear will disappear for the photo session; however, we have found that if the owner is in the picture with the pet, we have a better chance for a good photo.
